The NEMA 34 (86mm) non-captive through-shaft type hybrid stepper motor integrates a high-power 2-phase 1.8° stepper motor with a linear actuator design where the nut is built into the motor rotor and rotates with it, while the lead screw passes entirely through the motor and moves linearly without rotating. This design offers unlimited stroke length (limited only by screw length) and allows for ±1° installation tilt tolerance, making it highly forgiving in multi-axis systems where perfect alignment is difficult to achieve. Unlike the fixed type, the non-captive design has no mechanical travel limit — the screw can continue moving as long as the screw length allows. However, external guide rails are required to prevent the load from rotating with the screw. This linear actuator is engineered for heavy-duty industrial applications including large-format CNC machinery, industrial robotics, and heavy automation systems where maximum force and installation flexibility are required.
